Welcome to your adventure! This page contains everything you need to prepare for an unforgettable 5-day wilderness experience deep in the Shoshone National Forest outside Cody, Wyoming. You'll ride horses into pristine backcountry, cast a line in crystal-clear mountain streams, and capture stunning scenery through your lens — all while our expert crew handles every detail of camp life.

Whether you’re joining solo or with a friend, you’ll be welcomed into a group of women who encourage, support, and show up for one another. This trip blends adventure, learning, and community in a way that feels empowering, refreshing, and unforgettable.

Upon registration, you’ll receive a series of detailed documents to help you feel fully prepared for this adventure. These include our policies, daily itineraries, packing lists, travel details, and any forms that may need to be completed and returned. Many women join these trips solo, and there is truly no question that isn’t welcome. You’ll never feel like you’re navigating this experience alone. Before we travel, we’ll hold Zoom calls and create private participant groups so everyone can connect, ask questions, share travel plans, and start building community long before we arrive.

Participant Requirements

  • Must be comfortable horseback riding 4–6 hours per day

  • Must hold a valid Wyoming fishing license

  • Must be prepared for variable mountain weather and remote backcountry conditions

  • Yellowstone Regional Airport (COD) — Located directly in Cody, WY

    • 10–15 minutes from most lodging

    • Daily flights from Denver (DEN)

  • Billings Logan International Airport (BIL) — Billings, MT

    • ~2 hours from Cody

    • More flight options; often more affordable

Getting to Cody

  • Rental Car: Most participants choose to rent a car from either airport.

  • Shuttle Services: Seasonal shuttles run between Billings and Cody; availability varies.

  • Arrival Recommendation: Arrive the day before the trip begins to allow time for rest, gear organization, and acclimation.

How strenuous are the rides?

Rides are mildly strenuous and require participants to be able to horseback ride 4–6 hours per day. You do not need advanced riding experience, but you must be moderately physically fit and comfortable spending full days in the saddle.

What kind of camp will we be staying in?

We will be staying in a traditional canvas‑style wall tent camp, complete with cots and a comfortable backcountry setup. The camp is located right on the river, offering easy access for fishing and a peaceful, scenic environment.

Are meals included? Can dietary needs be accommodated?

Yes — all meals are provided by our camp chef. Most dietary restrictions and allergies can be accommodated, though participants should communicate needs in advance so the chef can plan accordingly.

Is fishing available at camp?

Yes — our riverfront camp allows you to fish directly from camp. Participants must have a valid Wyoming fishing license prior to arrival.

What is included in the trip?

All horses, riding equipment, camp equipment, meals, guiding services, and wildlife viewing activities are included. A detailed list is provided in your registration packet.

What is not included?

  • Transportation to and from the trailhead

  • Lodging the night before the ride in

  • Lodging the night after riding out

  • Wyoming fishing license

  • Guide gratuities

Are deposits refundable?

All deposits are non‑refundable. This ensures we can secure guides, horses, permits, and camp resources for your trip.

Will I receive a packing list?

Yes — a detailed packing list will be provided immediately upon registration. It will outline clothing, personal gear, and recommended items specific to horseback pack trips and mountain weather.

What documents will I need to complete?

After registration, you will receive a set of supporting documents, including:

  • Participant agreement

  • Liability waiver

  • Emergency contact form

  • Medical information form

  • Required outfitter forms specific to horseback pack trips

These must be completed prior to arrival to ensure safety and compliance with backcountry regulations.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Many participants join solo. This trip is intentionally designed for a supportive group of women who want to adventure, learn, and connect in a welcoming backcountry environment
