Join us for a family hike with kids in the Glacier area! Free to join, but you must register. Exact date, time, and meeting spot (second half of August) will be emailed to participants for safety and privacy—email me to get the date.
Trail is about 12 miles; we will go as far as the kids can and then turn back. Our goal is to reach at least halfway. Expect about 6 hours. Not suitable for children under 8–10 years or kids who can’t hike for long periods.
Kids set the pace — we stop and snack when they need to, and will take frequent bathroom breaks. Bear spray is REQUIRED for everyone 12 and older, no exceptions. Water minimums: adults 3 L each; children under 12, 2 L each. Wear proper hiking shoes and bring hiking poles.
We’ll meet at a pickup location and take a shuttle to the trailhead, then return by shuttle to our cars. Adults will be placed at the front, middle, and back of the group. This hike requires close supervision of children and involves risks like wildlife (including grizzly bears) and narrow, tricky sections where careful footing is needed.
